JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Academic Affairs and a member of the Academic Affairs Curriculum Support Team, the Academic Affairs Program Coordinator is responsible for working with faculty members and the Senior Program Coordinators to manage the implementation and operational activities of the UT Tyler School of Medicine's educational program.
The Academic Affairs Program Coordinator, working together with the Senior Coordinator and Faculty of phase 1 and 2, provides support for the coordination, scheduling, and support of Phase 1 and 2 courses and course components for the medical education program, including: Teaching Outstanding Physician Skills (TOPS), Interprofessional Education (IPE), Population Health and System Sciences (PHSS), Case[1]Based Learning (CBL), and Structure Lab for the Scientific Foundations courses. As Phase 1 is developed, the coordinator will assume increasingly more responsibilities in other phases of the curriculum under development including the Scholarly Activity Thread throughout the 3 phases of the curriculum.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
• Works with medical school departments and/or faculty to meet the educational needs of program learners through collaborative development and implementation of programmatic activities, which may include program competencies, curriculum, quizzes and exams.
• Provides administrative and/or clerical support to supervisor, faculty and staff to accomplish the day-to-day operational needs of the Academic Affairs Curriculum Support Team.
• Maintains program files and data, which may include individual learner files as well as program accreditation documentation in accordance with relevant regulatory and University policies.
• Collaborates with program faculty and leadership to develop learner assessment documentation, including assessment tools and assessment strategies/timelines and ensures compliance with deadlines.
• Updates and maintains educational program communication resources, which may include maintaining the curricular management website/program to ensure updated information and program requirements; generating informational brochures; creating and updating program or course syllabi and/or schedules; assisting with journal submissions; managing program marketing and collateral production; and maintaining email and address lists.
• Contributes to ongoing continuous quality improvement activities related to the educational program.
• Monitors learner files as well as program documentation and policy to ensure compliance with established and evolving standards.
• Liaises between program and/or departmental administration and University stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Three (3) years' experience managing/coordinating pre-clerkship education for a medical school or similar educational program.
• A combination of education and experience may be accepted.
