Job Description:

The Auxiliary Accounting Department seeks a highly dedicated and experienced individual to serve as an Accountant III. This position will play a critical role in financial analysis, data collection, reporting, processing accounting transactions, and advising departments on Fee-for-Service Educational Activities (FSEA) and Auxiliary operations. The individual will provide excellent customer service, through daily in-person and virtual interactions, gathering buy-in from process owners/end users and presenting on a consistent basis. This individual will also provide support for university tax processes related to Auxiliary Accounting. Examples of Work (These are not all inclusive, nor do they cover the full extent of the duties performed):

This position will provide guidance to FSEA/Auxiliary departments on financial matters, reporting requirements, and fiscal software-related topics. As well as assist in the monitoring and assessment process to confirm compliance with laws, policies, administrative rules, and other guidelines governing operations within FSEA's. This position is responsible for analyzing current processes and systems, researching and recommending solutions to leadership, and supporting implementation.

The role involves providing excellent customer service, managing daily communications both in-person and virtually, gathering buy-in from process owners/end-users to foster a collaborative culture of improvement and opportunity scaling. They will provide regular training to the university community and its related partners to ensure all entities are current. This position serves as an advisor with the University departments regarding questions related to the FSEA/Auxiliary application and approval processes for new FSEAs/Auxiliary. This position is responsible to review and provide constructive feedback on submitted applications to ensure compliance with University directives and Federal policies and assist with the review process of new FSEA units by the Auxiliary Advisory Committee.

This position is also responsible to coordinate the Rate Review process for FSEA/Auxiliary and serve as an advisor for research service centers on compliance with Federal regulations and University guidelines , . and that the proposed activities align with the University's mission. The position will be a key member of the team that conducts on-site visits to FSEA/Auxiliary operations across university properties.

The successful candidate will assist with processing FSEA/Auxiliary journal entries and fund collection and process these tasks when directed which includes conduct a trial balance and general ledger reviews for these funds . The incumbent participates in the oversight of the monthly submission of specific tax related functions, as well as support the Tax Services Director in reviewing annual UBI submissions.

This position will regularly communicate the results of projects through written and/or oral presentations which include project status, summary recommendations, final impact, and other needed details as appropriate. The position will also develop and distribute written presentation materials at the appropriate level of detail for the audience.

Expected Salary:

$65,000 - $75,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Auxiliary/FSEA operations at the University of Florida is preferred.

This position should be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Ability to analyze and solve problems, interpret and recommend solutions or changes.

Excellent customer service skills, including strong written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to work effectively in both team and individual settings.

Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others

Understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
