Summary

The Ambassador is responsible for welcoming guests to and/or from the hospital in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner. They are also responsible for screening guests according to policies and procedures. The Ambassador is also responsible for assisting guests with inquiries, directions, and initial questions regarding the facility or services.

Responsibilities

  • Greets every external guest into the hospital and before departure from the facility.
  • Screens guests entering facility following established policies and procedures
  • Responds to guest inquiries and concerns promptly and with courtesy.
  • Knowledge of the facility procedures and guest-related information including, facility general information, general event information, taxi/transportation assistance.
  • Directs guests to their location, and when possible/appropriate, personally escorts guests throughout the facility, opens doors, offers wheelchair assistance, guidance, and carries packages and luggage.
  • Receives flowers and other deliveries in accordance with policy.
  • Answers/makes phone calls, transfers calls appropriately.
  • Responds to safety hazards according to facility procedures to include: water on floor, objects inadvertently blocking doors, electrical cords removed or taped, and misplaced furniture.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains safe, clean and neat work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality related to work information (in accordance with HIPAA).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent experience
  • One year of customer service experience
