The Opportunity

Project: Life sciences and industrial manufacturing assistant project manager

Mace is seeking a full-time assistant project manager for life science and industrial manufacturing projects to work directly with our clients on capital projects.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Supporting the project managers to drive the delivery of the contracts or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements.
  • Monitoring and tracking achievement of contract deliverables against agreed baseline schedule milestones and deadlines, providing key stakeholders with progress and variance analysis reports on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Identifying and recording risks at program and contract levels.
  • Working with all stakeholders to eliminate and/or reduce schedule and cost risks.
  • Supporting commercial teams to develop and updating the program/contract budgets, escalating any potential issues to the project manager.
  • Supporting the project manager with submission and associated governance processes for project change requests (PCRs) including - scope definition, business justification, budget transfers and implementation.
  • Checking production and output of level 3 schedules for various contracts or packages of work. Ensuring such schedules are consistent with overall project schedules.
  • Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.
  • Supporting the commercial teams with contract administration and reporting duties, monitoring performance against forecast using of earned value Management (EVM) processes and tools.
  • Applying the principles of continuous improvement, ensuring that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual.
  • Interfacing with other programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of best practice.

About You

You will have relevant degree (MS or MBA preferred). You have demonstrated capital program leadership experience. You have effectively managed integrated team(s) on large complex and multi-phase life science and industrial manufacturing capital programs. You have knowledge of multiple project delivery methods, including alternative project delivery (design build and construction manager at risk).
