Lead a professional, service oriented team that provides the guests and visitors of the Georgia Center with outstanding food quality and customer service in the Savannah Room Restaurant, Bulldog Bistro and/or Banquet facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

The Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel's Food and Beverage unit operates a variety of banquet options and onsite dining outlets to serve its UGA and non-UGA customers. As part of this comprehensive Food and Beverage operation, the Center offers served meals, buffet meals, receptions, banquet bars, a la carte deliveries, coffee breaks and off-site events for any and all meal periods and time frames. This person will be tasked with working entry level positions in all areas as business demands.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Customer service experience. Some experience with food and beverage industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Considerable knowledge of foods and their preparation and of the uses and care of dishes, implements, and kitchen utensils. Considerable knowledge of health hazards relating to food preparation and service and of effective precautionary measures. Ability to follow guidelines and expectations set forth by management team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, management, and patrons. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions. Experience in a restaurant/service setting.

Physical Demands

Stand for long periods of time. Lift, pull, push or roll at least 50 lbs. Reach, bend, stoop, kneel and squat. Work with hands with good dexterity. Tolerate high temperatures within a kitchen environment.
