Position Summary

This position serves as a registered cardiac sonographer in the echocardiography laboratory and at the cardiology satellite offices. The cardiac sonographer II is required to perform all aspects of an echocardiographic exam, have a strong knowledge of cardiac pathology/echo equipment and work with students/staff. The cardiac sonographer II also contributes skills to assist with an efficient operation of the department. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Education

• High School Equivalent / GED Required and
• Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Technology Program Required or
• Graduate of an approved Sonography Program with cross-training in echocardiography Required

Work Experience

• 2+ years Experience in echo, preferably in a tertiary care setting Required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of cardiac pathology. Required
• Demonstrated competence with all aspects of echo exams: transthoracic, transesophageal, stress, pharmacologic; Required
• Ability to use all types of echo machines; Required
• basic computer skills; Required
• good communication skills Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Required or
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
