UWMC Montlake Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity for a CARPENTER.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Per diem/hourly, part-time, day shift


  • POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Individuals in this role perform skilled carpentry and related work in the maintenance, repair and installation of equipment and UWMC Montlake facilities.

  • PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install Metal stud framing, hang sheet rock, install doors and windows, install door hardware.

  • Install and repair ceiling grid and ceiling tiles.

  • Repair floors, walls, ceilings, screens, windows, sashes, doors, furniture, wood chairs, fixtures, stairs, cupboards loose Formica and roofs.

  • Build and install cabinets, furniture and other fixtures such as: blood pressure gauges, cup-towel-toilet paper dispensers, shelving, bulletin boards, whiteboards, sharps containers, glove box holders and medicine cabinets.

  • Adjust, repair or replace locks, weather stripping, screens, mirrors, brackets, window blinds, curtain tracks, handrails, hinges, closures, panic hardware.

  • Repair or alter buildings, sheds, scaffolds, partitions, concrete forms and other structures from plans, sketches or instructions; may construct new infrastructure from blueprints and specifications.

  • Operate power equipment such as saws, jointers, lathes, sanders, planers, boring and mortising machines; clean, sharpen, maintain and repair such equipment.


  • REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a carpenter; or full journey status as a carpenter in a union; or four years' applicable work experience. Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
