Summary

The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Operations Associate. This role will perform daily revenue cycle management and clinical operations for the Department's medical practice. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage previous experience to manage and enhance our revenue cycle operations while implementing operational improvements, driving innovative change, and supporting the growth of the clinical enterprise.

This role will collaborate with physician and administrative leadership to resolve complex challenges, improve clinical processes, execute special projects, and enhance the overall patient experience. This position supports the clinical operations for the Department of Neurology's McNair outpatient facility as well as multiple affiliate in-patient medical centers in the Houston area.

The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine provides personalized care for patients with neurological disease, trains medical students and residents in clinical care and research, conducts research to advance the art and science of neurology, and provides meaningful new therapies for patients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in experience with EPIC electronic medical records, demonstrated experience in a clinical and/or healthcare setting, ability to display a professional and positive attitude, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively across the Department, and will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and have strong organizational skills.

Job Duties

Revenue Cycle Management:
  • Performs and manages the daily revenue cycle functions for the Department including reporting, collection management, billing issue resolution, and insurance claims documentation.
  • Serves as liaison between physicians, insurance payors, and patients.
  • Assists physician providers revenue cycle issues including open encounters, missing charges, errors, and patient authorization issues.
  • Researches solutions and analyzes data to improve the revenue cycle process.
  • Spearheads revenue cycle enhancement projects including charge capture, injection management, and denial reduction.

Clinical Operations:
  • Collaborates with Department clinical leadership to operationalize clinical projects, execute realignment directives, and strategically implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Manages the clinical outpatient facilities including space planning, throughput, equipment, and capital equipment requests, and work order requests.
  • Collaborates with affiliates and physician leadership to ensure Neurology faculty are supported at each affiliate location.
  • Analyzes clinical data, proposes strategic solutions, and develops ongoing reporting for clinical faculty and administrative leadership to effectively manage the clinic.
  • Manages the patient experience process including data analysis, faculty reporting, accountability measures, and overall improvement across the clinical enterprise.
  • Supports program development and marketing initiatives to successfully expand the practice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business or Healthcare.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.
