Job Duties

AGENCY ONLY RECRUITMENT - THIS IS OPEN TO DEQ EMPLOYEESONLY: The Department of Environmental Quality's Office of Financial Management seeks a qualified person to be responsible for assisting with the functional design, configuration and support of administrative system applications (HR, Finance, etc). Core responsibilities include day-to-day functional support to users of the Oracle Cloud suite of products including ERP, EPM and HCM, to include gathering and defining requirements, configuration of standard applications, regular application updates and maintenance. This position also assists with financial analysis, report development and special projects, as needed. Assists in development and delivery of system-related user training. Participates in audits and administrative process improvement projects. Recommends and designs new system functionality and enhancements to existing systems. Prepares non-technical user manuals and training materials and assists with end user training as part of project development and implementation. Conducts post-implementation reviews. Makes recommendations for management relating to project development and system procedures. Assists with designing policies and procedures to ensure quality control and uniformity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Combination of training and experience in information systems, finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working with business users and database administrators to research, document, and resolve day-to-day operational functional issues.
  • Knowledge and experience with Oracle Cloud HR and/or Finance modules is required.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, finance and auditing standards, and data processing concepts.
  • Experience working with data in Excel.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and products.
Additional Considerations
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia finance and human resource policies and procedures.
