Summary of Position

Keene State College's Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology Department seeks applicants for a one-year contract lecturer to begin August 2024. This is a non-tenure track position through May 2025. The position has the possibility of continuance for one additional year.

The successful candidate will be prepared to teach Sociological Quantitative Analysis, Sociological Research Methods, Introduction to Sociology, and an upper-level sociology or criminology elective. The teaching load is four (4 credit) courses per academic semester. Additional responsibilities may include participating in departmental activities and campus-wide service. A Ph.D. in Sociology or a Master's in Sociology with Ph.D. in a closely related field is preferred. Applicants who are ABD will be considered as will applicants with a master's who demonstrate a strong record of teaching excellence in the necessary courses. All applicants must have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the college level.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

Master's in Sociology (Ph.D. preferred) with demonstrated record of teaching excellence in research methods and quantitative analysis. Two years minimum teaching experience at the college level.

Salary Information

Salary commensurate with experience, minimum starting anticipated salary $55,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
