As a Manager/Specialist Master at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for supporting and managing large complex IT systems - these applications are often high-volume mission critical systems and would provide you an exposure to a broad range of technologies across all Cloud and on prem systems. You will work with global functional and technical teams on engagements that leverage a high degree of automation, the latest technologies and cut across support and development work. You will need to understand functional requirements and should be able to support specific technologies, develop technical designs, develop, customize, and test completing the lifecycle from design to ongoing support

Work you'll do

As a Manager/Specialist Master in our Solutions Expert practice you will bring considerable expertise to deliver effective solutions to commercial clients. You will be responsible for architecting solutions comprised of various technologies including hardware, operating systems, networks and applications to enable tech operate services. Your work will include the following:
  • Design, document and develop world-class technical architecture using a full spectrum of technologies. This role requires hands-on technical capabilities as well as leadership skills;
  • Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients and participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process, contributing to the development of proposal pricing strategies;
  • Manage the day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors;
  • Define the scale and scope of projects - landscape requirements, development, architect the solution;
  • Develop and review system requirements, designing the solution, redefining the business, presenting the prototype, and leading the testing of our custom technology solutions;
  • Assisting clients with application architecture design, assessment and optimization including definition, documentation and implementation of new application architectures;
  • Review and evaluate key attributes of existing application architectures;
  • You'll help lead the successful implementation of these architectures project managing delivery and risk.
Managers/Specialist Masters in the Solutions Expert practice are required to have:
  • 8+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience;
  • At least 4 years' experience developing tech architecture leveraging cloud technology (KBE, containers, microservices) and applications. Skills should be hands-on;
  • At least 6 years' experience working in technical solution implementation including experience with architecture design, evaluation, and investigation in a cloud environment;
  • Software development, full life-cycle experience including methodologies, patterns, frameworks, libraries and tools;
  • Experience working as part of a solution architecture workstream of a complex engagement, acting as the bridge between the business and the technology teams;
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of the latest cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, latest computing trends, and deployment options;
  • Experience leading teams responsible for soliciting non-functional requirements;
  • Experience translating requirements into client ready design documents including modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML);
  • Experience defining, designing and developing distributed and scalable products and services including microservices on multi-platform/hybrid clouds such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Rackspace;
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies;
  • A willingness to travel 50 percent of time nationally - on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in technology or engineering.

In addition, successful Managers/Specialist Masters will have the following preferred background:
  • Knowledge of Cloud security controls, one or more programming and scripting languages - JavaScript, PowerShell, SQL, .NET, Java, Python, PowerShell;
  • Experience of DevSecOps practices and tools;
  • Recognized industry certifications are preferred - AWS Cloud Certified, GCP or Microsoft MS Azure, TOGAF;
  • An understanding of microservices, API integration, and data pipelines;
  • A working knowledge of web development and mobile development best practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint);
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment;
  • Eagerness to mentor junior staff and work on proposals.
