Description: Morgan Stanley FID Secured Lending group ("FSL") is seeking a Vice President to be part of its lending portfolio management platform based in New York.
FSL provides asset-backed financing facilities to both asset originators and financial sponsors, and currently manages a portfolio backed by a diverse range of assets including fund capital commitments, consumer loans, residential and commercial mortgages, student loans, corporate loans, etc. in US, Europe and APAC. The asset management team within FSL provides ongoing portfolio management, monitoring and risk oversight, and reports to senior management and other key constituents (e.g. Credit department, regulators, borrowers, co-lenders, etc.).
This role would focus primarily on Morgan Stanley's private credit financing, which provides back-leverage to funds investing in private credit debt, and capital call subscription facility (CCSF) lending platform, which provides financing for private equity, real estate and credit funds. Previous experience in corporate credit or fund finance is required.
Daily responsibilities would include:
• Review credit risk of new facilities and proposed renewals/amendments to existing facilitie
• Review borrower / co-lender requests and ongoing changes to the facilities to identify credit risks and potential operational issue
• Manage prepation of facility & portfolio-level reporting and presentation material
• Manage preparation of quarterly / ad-hoc stress analysis of the portfolio and individual facilitie
• Manage tech build-outs of analytical and infrastructure project
• Provide oversight of junior employees portfolio management activities, including:
o Ensure that borrower fundings & servicer reportings reviewed by junior team member
o Ensure that collateral and facility data is feeding into internal systems correctly
o Prepare loan and asset-level reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basi
• Conduct market and asset level research
• Prepare ad hoc analysis as needed by senior management
Qualifications:
Candidates must have the following background & skills:
• Experience with private credit, CCSF, or structured products (ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs etc.) is required
• 6 to 10+ years experience in finance, accounting or operations. Preferably in Banking (credit risk, fixed income, or asset management), Rating Agencies, or Accounting Firm
• Excellent data management and analytical skills (MS Excel, pivot tables, database management, etc.)
• Strong modelling skill
• Strong attention to detail
• Presentation-creation skills with Powerpoint
• Clear business writing & communication skill
• Experience reading and understanding loan document
• General knowledge of financial statements and financial accounting
• Business/Accounting/Finance Degree from competitive undergraduate/graduate program
• Previous experience managing junior employees also a positive

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
