Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide support for the Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) Cloud Service Offering contract. This position is 100% remote.

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will provide support services for protecting the DoDIN from cyber threats, both foreign and domestic, using cyber security systems, in combination with Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTP) and information sharing with DOD, DHS and other federal agencies. The Cyber Security Engineer will provide the services necessary to provide Assessment & Authorization support, cyber security authorizations process support, continuous monitoring support, Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery (DR) process support, and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) support.

HOW A CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Perform, or review, technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established IA standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies on NIPR assets.
  • Facilitate and meet cybersecurity compliance requirements for tenant migrations.
  • Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establishes system security designs for migration requirements.
  • Design, develop, implement and/or integrate IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments to include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification requirements.
  • Build IA into systems deployed to operational environments. Assist architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application security policy and enterprise solutions.
  • Support the building of security architectures.
  • Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures.
  • Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:

CLEARANCE: Secret

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or equivalent

CERTIFICATION: CISSP, CISM, CEH, and/or Security+ ce

YEAR'S EXPERIENCE: 8 years of experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Prior DoD experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Expert knowledge of Cloud cybersecurity technology principles, methods, and techniques as well as knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Experience with ACAS, STIG's and HBSS

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Experience with PPSM, SNAP and GIAP protocols

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Experience in developing and reviewing Authorization package and artifacts

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Experience with DoD RMF process and eMASS

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Experience with DoD Component Boundary Cloud Access Point (BCAP) circuits

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Has expert level knowledge of commonly used cybersecurity systems to include, but not limited to, the DoD Host Based Security System (HBSS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS), Joint Incident Management System (JIMS), Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and DHS Information Assurance Compliance System (IACS), DoD Component Boundary Cloud Access Point (BCAP), Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM), GIAP - GIG Interconnection Approval Process, SGS SIPRNet GIAP System, SNAP System/Network Approval Process.

SKILLS & ABILITIES: Prior performance in the role of ISSO, ISSE, ISSM, SCA or Cybersecurity Analyst

SKILLS & ABILITIES: Has expertise in Cybersecurity programs policies and implementation in support of the DoD and its Combatant Commands Service and Agencies (CC/S/As). Displays the proper knowledge and technical expertise to Computing Environment (CE) requiring support.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Knowledge of the DoD Risk Manage Framework (RMF) processes, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Etc.

The likely salary range for this position is $139,200 - $208,800, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
