The Dr. Martens Data & Analytics (D&A) Team has set the vision "To make every DM decision better with data" and is embarking on a transformational journey to "Execute faster in creating trust, access and value globally from all our data to empower our colleagues to stride forwards". It is an exciting time to join the D&A team, with the opportunity to both set and guide the team and DM's strategic direction.

As a Data Scientist you will be responsible for managing and analyzing large data sets, developing statistical models and machine learning algorithms, and providing insights to drive business growth for our direct-to-consumer channels. You will work closely with the broader business, supporting, challenging, and championing data and analytics for better decision making.

THE GIG
  • Develop statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze large data sets and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
  • Apply technical expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and the presentation of data to develop strategies for our direct-to-consumer channels.
  • Identify and measure success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations to develop data-driven solutions that enhance customer experience and drive business growth.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports that visualize data insights and performance metrics for executive leadership.
  • Communicate complex data insights and models to non-technical stakeholders and translate findings into actionable recommendations.


THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, including experience in direct-to-consumer (retail, ecommerce, etc.) analytics and growth strategies.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms, such as regression analysis, clustering, and decision trees
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R and SQL Jupyter, and ML libraries
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in productionizing algorithms, from data ingest to model management, using AWS and/or Azure.
  • Self-starter: able to drive projects and take technical leadership of projects
  • Experience in start-ups or other fast-paced environments preferred.
  • Experience and excitement partnering with Data Analytics and Data Engineering
  • International/domestic travel required.
  • Ability to work at a standard computer set up 40+ hours per week, with or without accommodations.
