DE Libraries Emerging Tech
Libraries have had long standing open labs focusing on workforce and small business assistance- including online learning, coaching and basic needs. This position will develop and enhance services for at-risk communities with a focus on how technology can enhance/inspire learning, expose people to possible different careers and ways to make their lives better. We want to help people attain a sustainable livable wage including those who need assistance to be able to do the jobs. We want to utilize our Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality technology in training applications, 3D printers and anything else that you think will be helpful for people to skill up.
Member Duties : Learn the current state of emerging technology, forming collaborations with partner organizations, learning about cross-curricular opportunities, developing outreach, and training materials, and defining processes for the projects. Emerging Tech will work with other VISTAs to identify potential collaboration on innovative policies. We are especially interested in AR, XR, & AI technology and the topics of community disaster preparedness/response and ways to help to increase literacy. Develop partnerships with other organizations that can help in a strategic plan to lead groups of individuals through extended learning activities and service learning opportunities using this emerging technology platform.
