DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Equipment Operator B, you are responsible for driving department trucks and vans to deliver expendable supplies, clothing items, and furniture to all troops and bureaus associated with the Pennsylvania State Police. You are to ensure the bureaus are stocked with enough supplies to conduct all daily functions. In addition, you load and unload deliveries, move heavy items using equipment, and maintain records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or
  • Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Additional Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake Restriction (L) removed.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
