Candidate Responsibilities:
Candidates will travel to remote oil and gas facilities throughout the Permian Basin region of West Texas.
  • Equipment Inventory Validation:
    • On-site, candidates will compare physical assets to engineering drawings.
    • This involves reading P&ID (Process and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings and verifying tag numbers, equipment names, etc.
    • Candidates will perform redlining on drawings to note errors or needed changes.
    • Candidates will photograph equipment and collect asset attribute data.
    • This data will be input into a homegrown application.
    • Candidates may update drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
    • Redlined drawings will be submitted back to the engineering team.
  • Work Conditions:
    • Candidates will work long hours, including 10-hour shifts, to complete inspections across multiple sites.
    • They will live in temporary man camps in isolated locations for weeks while performing fieldwork at nearby facilities.
    Candidate Profile:
    • Engineering Background:
      • Candidates must have an engineering background.
      • Experience reading engineering drawings and understanding domain terms in the oil and gas industry is essential.
      • The ability to interpret drawings and validate accuracy is crucial.
    • Remote Work Experience:
      • Candidates with experience working in remote/isolated locations and living in temporary housing/man camps are preferred.
      • Comfort with challenging conditions in the West Texas Permian Basin is necessary.
    • Software Proficiency:
      • Proficiency with AutoCAD or other engineering design software is beneficial but not required.
      • Candidates should be able to redline drawings by hand.
    • Oilfield Services Knowledge:
      • Experience in asset management, facility engineering, or similar oilfield services roles is advantageous.
      • Understanding the challenges of maintaining oil and gas infrastructure is beneficial.
