DHL currently has an opening forFleet Mechanic. As aFleet Mechanic, you will responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles, equipment and machines in the hubs, gateways or terminal warehouses. You may troubleshoot, diagnose and repair computerized or feedback-controlled vehicle on-board-diagnostic systems (OBD). Additionally, you will anticipate potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge or processes, and provide expert advice, training, and technical assistance to lower level service, production, and support personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles such as vehicle washing, cleaning, oil changes, greasing and inspection of hoses, belts, fluids and wiring
  • Performs vehicle repairs by disassembling and overhauling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends, and other assemblies
  • Replaces worn or broken parts, aligns wheels, adjusts brakes, tightens bearings, tunes engines
  • Conducts routine and periodic inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of machinery and equipment
  • Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Maintains required licenses and certifications
  • Provides on-the-job training, ensuring that assigned Ground Mechanics are kept current on equipment, vehicles, systems, functions and manuals
  • Complete all paperwork necessary to ensure that the job training is properly documented


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift 50lb-70lb consistently for the duration of your shift
  • Technical certification or Associate degree Preferred or a minimum of 2yrs industry experience
  • Generally 4+ or more years of experience in related area of responsibility
  • Comprehensive knowledge in technical or specialty area and or tasks and responsibilities
  • Takes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing tasks and may teach them to others
  • Subject matter expert in service, production, or support area of responsibility
  • Performs all of the standard and all of the specialized and most complex aspects of the function
