Virginia Highlands Community College serves our community by providing quality and affordable education, training, and cultural activities through an array of flexible, diverse programs that enable community members to succeed today and in the future.

This position is a temporary hourly/wage position for 20 hours a week during the Summer 2024 to assist faculty members in packing up their industrial shops to relocate to a new facility.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to remain constantly aware and observant of surroundings to maintain safe work zones for workers and the public. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds or more. Ability to follow health, safety and security procedures. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate clearly. Valid driver’s license. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
Additional Considerations
Work closely with faculty to pack classroom/labs to move to new facility. Move tools, totes, equipment, parts, supplies from existing facility to new facility.
