Insight Global is searching for a Mid-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join one of our largest Engineering consulting clients in Hampton Roads, VA, primarily serving Department of Defense clients. The Candidate will be responsible for completion of task level work, including: field investigations (including soil, water, and air sampling; drilling and subcontractor supervision, and coordination with analytical laboratories), construction and/or remedial action oversight, health and safety air monitoring, and preparation of technical reports. This is a hybrid work position (mix of home and office).
Evaluate geologic and chemistry data to reach sound technical conclusions and present/document findings in project reports using text, figures, graphs, etc.
Develop and assume responsibility for the execution of basic to moderately complex tasks/projects.
Plan and oversee/perform remedial investigations and remediation projects.
Provide field leadership role and field oversight.
Lead field testing, multimedia sampling, and other investigation fieldwork.
Maintain strong skills/capabilities regarding technical areas, especially in the areas of general hydrogeology and groundwater characterization/remediation
Provide guidance to and mentor junior staff in technical areas (including but not limited to the fields of general geology, hydrogeology, and groundwater characterization/remediation) to build overall technical capabilities of Tetra Tech staff
Technical report writing and data evaluation tasks.

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree - Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science
5-10 years of experience as a Geologist or Environmental Scientist in the environmental consulting field
Experience with associated field work involved with environmental investigations and remediations
40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent communication both written and verbal
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (PG) license, or ability to obtain
8 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER supervisor
Experience with CERCLA
Experience with fractured bedrock
Experience on federal programs
