Perform tasks relating to the installation, planning, and maintenance of turf including mowing, fertilization, irrigation insect/weed control, dethatching, seeding, sodding, aeration and site preparation.
Duty/Responsibility
Perform tasks relating to the installation and maintenance of trees, shrubs and flowers including pruning, cabling, fertilization, irrigation, insect/weed control and removal as required.
Duty/Responsibility
Perform tasks related to construction, installation and maintenance of sidewalls, patios, retaining walls, benches, sign standards, stairs and sweeping and maintaining of hard surface areas.
Duty/Responsibility
Operate and maintain equipment to perform above tasks, including tractors, dump/plow trucks, lawnmowers, trimmers, chain saws, bucket trucks, rototillers, sand/salt spreaders and snow blowers, etc. Note any equipment deficiencies and come up with an action plan to correct deficiencies.

Report under emergency conditions such as snow removal, down trees and storm water maintenance as required.

- Being a point of contact when the manager isn't available, answering questions, and making decisions under the manager's authority.
- Assisting in hiring, training, and mentoring new employees.

- Assist manager with planning, coordinating, and executing vehicle and equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and seasonal tire changes of all facilities vehicles.
- Help manager oversee/plan for projects either in house or through sub-contractors.
- Perform routine visual inspections of the campus zones.
- Be a point of contact when the manager isn't available, answer questions, and make decisions under the grounds manager's authority. Fill in the duties and responsibilities of grounds manager while they are on vacation or otherwise not on campus.
- Assist in the hiring, training, and mentoring of new employees.
- Assist the grounds manager in delegating work orders to grounds workers through the campus work order management system.
- Act as a mentor in team development and assist in areas where deficiencies may be found.
- Assist in coordinating contractors in performing work related to the campus grounds.
Duty/Responsibility
- Carry out the routine, light maintenance and repair of grounds equipment.
- Plan and carry out preventative, routine and corrective maintenance associated with this equipment to ensure prolonged life and to minimize breakdowns and safety hazards.
- Supervise and train staff in these tasks as required.
