What you'll be doing in this role

The Room Attendant works in conjunction with the Housekeeping team to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hotels with a focus on the public spaces and designated Housekeeping areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, humble and knowledgeable service throughout the property
  • Receive mobile device to see assigned rooms for the day
  • Maintain stock and organization of housekeeping cart and all tools (brushes, mop, vacuum, etc.)
  • Clean guestrooms up to the standard set forth by management
  • Adhere to the timeliness of cleaning rooms, as set forth by management
  • Adhere to the quantity of rooms cleaned per day, as laid out by the credits system or as set forth by management
  • Use operation software to call for needed items and mark rooms their proper designation (Vacant Clean, DND, etc.)
  • Occasionally speak with guests to understand their needs
  • Be responsive on the radio (Zello application) when Office coordinator/Supervisors/Manager reach out
  • Take care to ensure organization is maintained in shared Housekeeping areas (landings, side closets)
  • Monitor and maintain Guest hallways and elevators always clean and presentable


Employee Relations

  • Assist in creating a culture that encourages our staff to grow
  • Support service teams
  • Prepare all required paperwork including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner


General/Miscellaneous

  • Ensure in quality of guest experience, service, operational effectiveness, employee retention, and satisfaction
  • Ensure consistent, thorough, and timely communication to peers, managers, guests, and vendors
  • Continually strive to provide opportunities to advance the education and development of staff as it relates to food, wine, and service
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations/ordinances that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the farm/restaurant/inn, its employees, and its guests
  • All other duties as assigned by manager


In an ideal world, you have:

  • 2+ years of related cleaning or housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel
  • Excellent Mobile Device competency (HotSOS, Zello, Apple & Android UI)
  • Commitment to quality, excellence, and genuine hospitality
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and flexible, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen, communicate, and make connections
  • Relevant experience in high-end hospitality
  • Excellent device competency with mobile programs
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • A person of integrity; fair and consistent
  • Creative problem-solving and critical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization
  • Extensive knowledge of housekeeping operations and the cleaning process
  • Availability as needed to accommodate hotel occupancy (Summer, Spring, weekends, holidays)


ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and able to push up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
