Overview

Summary

The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in providing HR support to our teammates and ensures effectiveness of all HR programs and initiatives. The Human Resources Generalist provides support to select client groups and partners with the HR team in the development, implementation, communication, and administration of all human resources functions. The Human Resources Generalist collaborates often with the HR Business Partners, broader HR team, Operations, and Legal.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities (essential functions of the job)


  • Informs and advises teammates of CubeSmart human resource policies and procedures
  • Provides ongoing communication to teammates at all levels concerning CubeSmart programs impacting teammates
  • Assists HR Business Partners in responding to teammate relations calls and by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations, performing root cause analysis, mitigating risk, and developing plans that support positive outcomes in line with company values
  • Provides Talent Management support, including assistance with the yearly performance management process, talent review preparation, and research of leadership development, vendor, and talent trends
  • Manages HR vendor relationships, including contract/invoice management and analyzing current vendor performance
  • Understands, communicates, and ensures compliance with all CubeSmart employment policies and procedures and any applicable laws
  • Leads broader HR department projects and initiatives as determined

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Minimum Required Qualifications (including Programs/systems experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Three to five years of experience in the Human Resources field
  • Demonstrates competence in HR Generalist functions, including employee relations, talent management, and HR policies
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as experience working with HRIS systems
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to listen attentively and to communicate and collaborate effectively throughout all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to seek out underlying assumptions through probing, questioning, and listening
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service by proactively communicating and responding promptly to teammate needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal/state employment laws and a solid understanding of general HR practices, laws, and regulations
  • Results oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize activities around established goals
  • Ability to work independently while working effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
