OhioMHAS Information Services is the technology arm of the third largest cabinet level agency in the state of Ohio. We support more than 3,200 employees within six regional inpatient behavioral health hospitals, Ohio Pharmacy Services, and Central Office. We develop and support technology for several critical business solutions used by the agency as well as by county and local behavioral health care providers across the state.

We are accepting applications for an IT Project Manager 1 in the Office of Information Services, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, Floor 33, Columbus, Ohio, 43215.

What You'll Do:
  • Execute projects using the Software Delivery Life Cycle
  • Understand the business drivers and requirements of projects
  • Development of project plans using waterfall, agile, and rapid application development methodologies
  • Implement project management lifecycle processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Formal project-level status, metrics, issues, and risks reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written skills
  • Sense of urgency

Qualifications
The following are the minimum qualifications for this position. For further consideration, applicants must clearly identify how qualifications are met with the education and/or experience sections of the application.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

Alternative 1:
  • 3 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
Alternative 2:
  • Successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
Alternative 3:
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
