The State Water Resources Control Board's (State Water Board) has an opening for a permanent full-time Senior Engineering Geologist (Specialist) in the Division of Water Quality's Sustainable Water Plans and Policies Section. As the Integrated Water Resource Management Hydrogeology Specialist for the Division of Water Quality, you will work independently and collaboratively on projects and policies to equitably increase water resiliency in California while protecting ecosystems for future generations. Job duties require strong critical thinking and project management skills; expertise in hydrogeology, infiltration, and geochemical processes; and the ability to review and interpret data, technical reports, and engineering designs and plans for water supplies.

Knowledge and experience related to hydrogeology, infiltration, aquifer testing, evaluation, and interpretation, geochemical processes, fate, and transport of contaminants in groundwater including emerging contaminants, and groundwater monitoring and modeling.

Experience managing and leading projects; strong project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Experience transforming, analyzing, and summarizing data and developing data visualizations for large datasets using programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Structured Query Language), geographic information systems (e.g., ArcGIS), and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBi, Tableau), and

Knowledge or experience related to integrated water resource management and protecting water quality, natural ecosystems, and beneficial uses.

Experience drafting technical documents, reports recommendations, and summaries of findings.
