Systems Engineering Senior
  • Manage system-level test program on assigned vehicles and breadboard
  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Electrical Engineering Organization, network architecture organization, VEV and other teams
  • Work with Core Engineers to create and manage vehicle evaluation plans based on feature maturity, software delivery (Agile) from vehicle definition to vehicle decommissioning.
  • Ensure software integrity and traceability on test vehicles is maintained
  • Work with Hardware-in-Loop, Breadboard, suppliers and systems teams to ensure that tests conducted on vehicles with correct versions of software and hardware.
  • Support issue management and triage meetings with evaluators to ensure that all findings are captured, logged and distributed accurately using JIRA and following the established processes.
  • Coordinate handoffs and drive events with vehicle engineering and chief program engineers to support vehicle drives.
  • Root cause and fix electrical issues on vehicles as they arise. Conduct simple CAN signal analysis, take logs, videos as needed to support issue investigation.
  • Own vehicle integrity including making sure that program assigned vehicles are maintained, safe, and any required hardware or camouflage requirements on vehicles are met.
  • Support milestone signoff events (2-3 per program)
  • Support weekly reporting to management as needed
  • Some travel may be required
Skills Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
• Must be in southeast MI.
• Driver's license required. Ability to drive self to and from locations such as Romeo Proving Grounds and Dearborn required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with large cross-functional teams under aggressive timelines and sporadic heavy workloads
Skills Preferred:
  • Program launch experience
  • Understanding of GPDS deliverables and basic Ford engineering tools (AVBOM / Bill of Material / AIMS / 5Ds /eFDVS / Engineering Sign Off / DFMEA / Six Sigma/WORQ/JIRA)
  • Experience in Hardware in the Loop(especially with DSPACE tools) and/or vehicle breadboard test environments
  • Experience/knowledge in development of automated test solutions
  • Experience applying security controls, especially in automotive contexts
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity topics such as cryptography, key management, access management
  • In-depth understanding of Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) •Experience with AUTOSAR
  • Understanding of C/C++programming language
Experience Required:
  • 3+ years' experience with embedded systems
  • 3+ years' experience with CAN messaging/signals as well as electronic module diagnostics capabilities (CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL, etc.)
  • 3+ years' experience in creating and executing automotive test methods and test plans, especially with vehicle networks
  • 2+ years' experience with issue management systems (JIRA, DOORS etc.)
Education Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
