Our team in US is growing! We are currently recruiting for a Lead Structural Engineer to join our Project Delivery Business line in the in Tucson office.

About the Role

  • Ensure the delivery of Structural engineering design according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of Structural engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise.
  • Coordinate resources in different Ausenco (and sub-consultant) offices in different time zones
  • Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment, contract packages and bulks by specifying requirements and assisting Procurement with the purchase of equipment
  • Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of structural engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving structural capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible.
  • Evaluate tenders from a technical standpoint by applying multi-disciplinary knowledge and experience
  • Conduct and/or direct structural evaluations of existing structures and foundations and prepare evaluation reports for clients.
  • Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with Engineers and Designers
  • Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training


About You

  • Undergraduate Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years Structural design engineering experience including 5 years in copper concentrator design.
  • Active Professional Engineering License in the U.S.
  • Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, external consultants and in-house experience.
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
  • Ability to lead with prior experience leading structural project teams.
  • Commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel.
  • Ability to complete performance reviews on study and project personnel.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively.
