Position Summary

The University of North Carolina Asheville Department of Computer Science invites applications for a full- time Lecturer to begin Fall 2024. The teaching load is 12 contact hours (typically 3 course sections) per semester with an initial appointment of two years with the potential for contract renewal. A Doctorate or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a closely related field (with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in computer science), is required, though exceptions may be granted for candidates with exceptional professional and/or teaching experience. Individuals with a passion for undergraduate teaching are strongly encouraged to apply.

Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, UNC Asheville is a leading public liberal arts institution. Beyond teaching across the computer science curriculum and holding office hours, the successful candidate will contribute to the liberal arts mission and to the computer science department in various ways. This may include teaching interdisciplinary courses, engaging in service to the department, institution, and the profession, mentoring students, and supervising student projects.
