About this Role:
The Capitated Rates Development Division (CRDD) is responsible for developing and processing Medi-Cal managed care capitation rates for more than 10 million beneficiaries across California's 58 counties. Under the direction of the Section Chief, the Health Program Specialist I (HPS I) independently, and in a lead capacity, acts as a highly skilled, technical program consultant in the area of policy development, analysis, and administration for CRDD. The HPS I will act as the primary policy expert and point of contact in the development of payment policies and regulations; participate in the monitoring and evaluation of Medi-Cal managed care delivery systems and the Increased Access to Student Behavioral Health Services proposal, analyze and organize data, and recommend effective solutions. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the incumbent must have strong written and verbal communication skills, understand and interpret the most complex health care statute and authority, comprehend fiscal implications of CRDD decisions, be highly organized, detail oriented, and technical, and be able to expedite priority assignments while maintaining standard workload. The HPS I must also be able to work collaboratively with staff and management in the development of policy and policy communication, quarterly and annual stakeholder and health plan meetings, and training events.

Telework Information
