Provides technical support of project cost estimations, look for additional partners/vendors (ie. steel vendors, paint, machine shops, etc.), support the PR submittal process, support Material Master creation in SAP, support technicalquestions from vendors during the quotation process. Also provides some logistic support related to incoming materials,parts, as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for gathering costing for incoming projects by supporting the contact of external vendors (steel, rubber lining, FRP) and internal vendors (graphite, tubes, PTFE), answering their technical/engineering-related questions.
  • Provide technical support during the search for new vendors to supply fabricated steel shells, structural steel for modular systems, vendors for sandblast and painting of steel shells, etc.
  • Tracks and follows up on internal and external supplied parts, as needed
  • Creates Purchase Orders, as needed
  • Coordinates with global Supply Chain Management group to provide timely arrival of graphite components
  • Support logistics and transport concerns related to incoming parts, as needed
  • Coordinates with freight forwarders for incoming parts from global suppliers, as needed
  • Supports the efforts to ensure that materials are receipted into the system in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with Project Management regarding updating project schedules
  • Support Material Master creation in SAP, as needed
  • Support of other colleagues if required by head of local PM


Your Profile:
  • BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, etc)
  • 1-2 years experience in one of the a.m. engineering disciplines in a project-oriented role
  • Strong blue print reading skills
  • Chemical industry experience will be a plus
  • Fluent English, additional (German, French, Spanish, Chinese) is a plus.
  • Machining & Manufacturing of chemical process equipment.
  • Logistics (regulations, export control. Incoterms. Packing.etc.
  • Familiar with CAD/Solid-Edge and database software (ie.SmarTeam).
  • Scheduling (MS-Project / CA PPM)
  • SAP-system software.
