Plans, sources, develop and coordinates commissioning processes, tools, fixtures and equipment for designated area of responsibility within the automotive manufacturing area. Leads special and new projects as assigned including equipment/structure modifications within areas of responsibility. Plans engineering changes and deviations for automotive manufacturing area. Evaluates and improves automatization process and process methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication process, tooling and production equipment capabilities, automatization methods and quality control standards. Creates and maintains automatization process sheets. Analyzes and plans space requirements and workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Confers with finance, procurement, design staff and vendors concerning product design, process tools, fixtures and equipment to ensure efficient production methods and to arrange for purchase of automatization equipment, materials or parts. Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding automatization capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future automatization requirements and potential. Initiates projects for continuous improvement, structural planning and/or other series and new model related planning projects. Assists with analysis on process and quality issues not solvable by production areas. Works collaboratively with applicable process partners and stakeholders. Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving. Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

- Company vehicle programBS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred);
OR
AS Degree in a technical field And 2 years of experience in a body, paint or assembly maintenance role in a manufacturing environment.
OR
The equivalent of 4 years of related engineering experience.
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment OR 6 months participation in an automotive co-op/internship (Technical automotive
manufacturing or similar experience preferred).
1+ years technical or support role skills for manufacturing (could be design, quality, metrology, process).
1+ years - Microsoft Office skills.
1+ years problem investigation & data analysis skills.
1+ years project management skills- structure projects, continuous improvement, process analysis, new model integration.
1+ years cross-functional communication skills.
1+ years ability to use and apply statistical methods to aid with process, analysis, risk filters, FMEAs, SPC, process/machine capability.
1+ years ability to use quality planning tools (preferred).
1+ years skills in BMW applications/systems-PCSQ, DZA, SAP, TAIS, IPA (preferred).
