The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for creating and implementing consumer marketing initiatives for California's Great America. This position encompasses a wide range of marketing tasks including the design, production and installation of in-park printed and digital signage. Candidate must have effective communication with Marketing, Group Sales, and other department teams. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.

This seasonal position reports to the Brand Activation Manager and runs from May - September

Responsibilities:
Assist Marketing personnel with communicating their message in a concise creative way via collateral pieces, signage, and digital graphics on Windows-based operating system.

● Manage in-park digital display content. Request videos, design graphics, and program content per the Content Calendar.

● Coordinate the production and installation of printed signage.

● Take photos of park, events, etc. to build and update assets.

● Maintain photo library. Edit, resize, and crop images for various marketing content.

● Assist and manage with event preparation and execution; including planning event programming, coordination with teams inside the park to facilitate event setup, ordering supplies and equipment while staying within an assigned budget, and more.

● Writes complete operations memos for Park-Wide events that are used and distributed to all Park Personnel for events

● Assist with execution of media promotions, special events and sponsorship implementation

● Perform various other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.

● Responsible for a wide range of administrative duties, including but not limited to effective communication with station partners, conducting detailed data research and entry, and coordinating the planning and execution of events to ensure smooth and efficient office operations.

Qualifications:
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing or English (preferred)
  • 1-2 Years Related Experience
  • Minimum Age - At Least 18 Years of Age
  • Strong writing and copy-editing abilities
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent planning skills, strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills, especially for dealing with guests and fellow associates
  • Experience in basic photo editing and design
  • Prefer experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level sufficient to conduct employee meetings; provide detailed direction to staff, guests and vendors; and write policies, procedures, reports and other business-related documents and correspondence
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business need
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law
  • Valid Driver's License
