Prime Air is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of propulsion hardware & related test systems. In this role you will be working to mature and document designs, add and increase engineering rigor, help deploy new test systems and work with internal and external groups to support its fabrication. You will also be responsible for developing new test hardware and supporting ongoing development efforts.

Export Control License

This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will help the team in the following ways:

- Develop requirements for test hardware and related systems

- Design and validate prototype test methods and hardware

- Increase the engineering rigor behind the designs and formalize documentation.

- Find creative technical approaches to encourage frugality and to invent and simplify

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
