Do you have a passion for working with families and Children and families?Look no further, The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Multisystemic Therapy Clinical Supervisor to join our team. The MST Clinical Supervisor acts as liaison with key collaborating agencies, providing ongoing evaluations and staff development for therapists, interfacing with MST expert consultants and providing overall program management. You will empower families to address problematic behaviors and to help their youth ages 12 - 17 make life-transforming changes. Treatment progress is made through intensive interventions such as changing unhelpful family interactions, addressing the youth's problems with peers and in school, and increasing social support, to name a few.

Your role in action:
  • Directs weekly group supervision for MST team to assure adherence to the MST principles and the MST analytic process.
  • Conducts individual supervision as needed to target clinician's competency needs and to eliminate individual barriers to effective implementation of MST treatment.
  • Provide appropriate documentation of clinical effort to facilitate peer and supervisory input, and to meet all reporting and communication requirements of funding and referral sources.
  • Assures availability of clinical and administrative support to clinicians 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
  • Ensures therapists are accessible to clients when needed to promote engagement with all key participants.
  • Ensures all assessments are comprehensive, multi-systemic, and provide sufficient information to determine the cause and correlations of referral behavior to direct effective treatment within the ecological context.
  • Delivers supportive and corrective feedback to clinicians to promote client outcomes.
  • Provides direct clinical training to assure clinician competency in all clinical areas relating to the implementation of MST intervention.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Master's degree (MS/MA) from an accredited college or university recognized by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or in a related area.

Experience:
  • Three (3) years of related experience to include one (1) year paid supervisory experience in the field of psychology.
  • Four (4) years of experience as an MST therapist can be substituted for one year of supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be knowledgeable of computer systems and court procedures.
  • The MST Clinical Supervisor should have significant clinical experience in treating serious antisocial behavior in youth, direct use of pragmatic (i.e., structural, strategic, and functional) family therapies, and leadership role including hiring, performance evaluation, and holding supervisees accountable for performance.
  • The MST Clinical Supervisor must have knowledge of family systems theory and application, social ecological theory and application, behavioral therapies theory and application, cognitive-behavioral therapy theory and application, pragmatic family therapies theory and application, child development research and its application in treatment, and social skills assessment and interventio n.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the following areas of theory: Family systems, social ecological, behavioral and application, cognitive-behavioral and application, and pragmatic family therapies and applications.
  • Must be able to use implementation of interventions from within or between systems in the youth's natural ecology that affects or influences the behavior of youth (i.e. family, peer, school, and neighborhood).
  • Must be knowledgeable in the following areas: childhood risk and protective factors, psychological testing and report writing, clinical practice in a correctional facility with juvenile population, cultural issues as they relate to treatment, current ethical and legal issues.
  • Ability to prove administrative supervision, clinical supervision, and training to multidisciplinary clinical and administrative staff.
  • Must be able to work with other professionals at all levels of the juvenile justice system including judges, attorneys, psychiatrists, psychologists, administrators, probation, and detention officers.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
