Job Title: Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Program Coordinator

Department: Quality

Summary Manages the NDT Program for a multi-site organization and supervises NDT/CWI staff. Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process with an emphasis on nondestructive testing. Sets up and operates Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT), Ultrasonic (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT) and Radiographic Testing (RT) equipment. Supports internal/external NDT/CWI audits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Reviews part prints, procedures and work instructions to complete testing.
  • Manages the NDT Program, Internal/External Audits and Supervises NDT/CWI Technicians.
  • Prepares, Reviews and coordinates the approval of Techniques for MT, UT, PT and RT.
  • Coordinates activities with outside NDT vendors for subcontract work.
  • Coordinates training and testing for Level I and Level II inspectors. Training encompasses MT, UT, PT and RT.
  • Researches and specifies NDT equipment for new acquisitions.
  • Sets up and performs nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Ensures that equipment operates correctly.
  • Ensures compliance to the process for the Control of Records and Document Control Process.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of five years practical experience. Prior Level II experience in a combination of disciplines (MT, PT, UT, VT & RT) in a manufacturing environment is required. CWI accreditation preferred.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
