Responsible for assisting the EES Coordinator and EES Chair with front office reception service and other day-to-day tasks, including communications with alumni, and some building-wide 25Live approvals. Greets and assists visitors to STEPS, directing them to the proper department, person, office or area of the building. Orders Xerox copier and printer paper and supplies, assists with receipt of incoming mail and packages (notifying recipients of perishable or valuable packages received), receives and signs for deliveries to the loading dock, assists with setup for coffee hour. Administers lost and found and in general assists in maintaining a professional and organized STEPS Building front office. This position is a Grade: 6-37.5 with an approximate salary range of $16,690-$20,020 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications

1. Provides critical support of clerical and receptionist duties for the STEPS Building (working in coordination with the EES Coordinator also housed in ST109)

• Greeting and assisting visitors to STEPS, working during the "busy hours" of 9:00 to 3:00pm when student traffic is highest.

2. Maintains/monitors the copy machine and building printers available to all STEPS inhabitants, ordering paper and supplies

• Will be able/authorized to do some ordering of office supplies related to basic outer office functions.

3. Manages receipt and sorting of mail and packages and alerts recipients if contents appear to be perishable or particularly valuable.

4. Building lost and found, maintains professional and organized STEPS Building man office

5. Assists the EES Coordinator with setup for events in the building, particularly those related to STEPS inhabitants and with emphasis on EES (this could involve some assistance with approvals in 25Live)

• This can involve setup of tables, coffee service, and after the event, cleanup.

6. Maintains a list of EES majors and minors, working with the EES Coordinator, and assists EES faculty with organization of EES Seminars held each week in ST101.

• Assistance of arranging travel, lodging, meals, parking permits, and meetings during visits for the EES seminar speakers (working the faculty hosting each visit)

The duties of the position do not allow for a remote work option; the employee in this position will be required to work on campus where they can be fully accessible to the Lehigh community

This position has 13 weeks off between mid May and mid August. Exact dates within each month fluctuate yearly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience

• No Experience Requirement

• Some experience working in an office environment is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
