The Management Information Systems Department offers the following degrees: on-campus Ph.D., online Master of Business & Technology, on-campus BBA in MIS, and on-campus FinTech certificate. In addition, the Terry College of Business offers an on-campus MBA degree, on-campus Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), and off-campus Executive/Professional MBA degrees. The Management Information Systems Department is consistently ranked highly nationally and internationally for its programs and scholarly productivity. Faculty hold editorial positions at the premier information systems journals, and current and emeritus faculty include multiple AIS Fellows and AIS Leo Award winners. Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master's or Doctoral Degree in Information Systems or a related discipline from an AACSB accredited university or international equivalent at the time of appointment.

Position Summary

The Department of Management Information Systems in the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the lecturer, senior lecturer, or principal lecturer level as early as August 1, 2024. This position is expected to be 70% instruction and 30% service/administration at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with an anticipated start date that could be as early as August 1, 2024.

Additional Requirements

Candidates with a Master's degree must document exceptional management information systems accomplishments and be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire. The position is renewable based on performance and promotion is possible after six years of service. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to:
  • Interface the Center for Business Analytics and Insights (CBAI) with the Georgia Business Community.
  • Source and supervise capstone projects for the MSBA Program.
  • Develop and supervise an advisory board of companies that provide financial aid and other support for the MSBA program.
  • Pursue public speaking activities to represent CBAI, Terry, and UGA at relevant industry and academic events, while also regularly publishing analytics and AI thought leadership material that can be posted through the Terry and MSBA site.
  • Develop and teach new courses that focus on presenting and socializing results from analytics projects to the average managerial consumer of analytics projects, as well as other analytics needs for the college.
