Position Summary

The Office of Internal Grants, Awards and Research Personnel (IGARP) within the Office of Research is seeking a motivated, energetic individual to join their team as a Operations Associate. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director. This individual is responsible for management of program and process operations under the guidance and direction of the Associate Vice President for Research and Assistant Director including, but not limited to, administrative and clerical support for the above office and for the Associate Vice President for Research. The person in this role will:
  • Plan and execute logistical details of professional development programming and special events for campus postdocs and research scientists.
  • Office of Postdoctoral Affairs administrative processes, requiring full policy knowledge and interpretation and communication with other offices and units on campus.
  • Assistance to the AVPR with facilitating meetings and working groups and general administrative support in communication.
  • Co-liaison to the UGA Postdoc Association (in conjunction with the Assistant Director).
  • Coordinate postdoc fellowship program logistics.

Primary operator of Office of Postdoctoral Affairs administrative processes, which include postdoc offer letter review, UGAJobs actions review and approval, administrative processing of postdoc salary requests, postdoc 5-year term review, postdoc appointment post-processing and act as backup to the Assistant Director as the NSF-NIHGSS Postdoc Survey Coordinator.

Assistance to the AVPR with the Research Communication and Collaboration Roundtable (RCCR) and other initiatives (to include scheduling meetings, scheduling speakers, meeting set-up, assistance with the RCCR newsletter and other logistical and communication tasks) and general administrative support.

Duties/Responsibilities

Coordinate postdoc fellowship program logistics, to include creating and maintaining competition web forms via InfoReady, coordinating site visits, coordinating with the AVPR and Assistant Director on website updates, and other administrative and logistical tasks associated with the programs.
