Position Requirements:
Oracle DBA: This full-time Oracle database administrative position will challenge the candidate to expand their skillsets and learn new technologies in a fast-paced and friendly environment. The successful candidate remains up-to-date on vendor technologies and recommended best practices in a highly-available, enterprise environment. The successful candidate for this position will be solid in Oracle and familiar with MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL.
Required skills:
  • Five or more years of experience (including design, installation, configuration, administration, patching, upgrades, tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting) with Oracle Enterprise Database in a Linux environment on virtual servers; similar skills are desired for MySQL and EDB PostgreSQL
  • Oracle 19c including Multitenant, Real Application Cluster (RAC), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM), DataGuard, Grid Infrastructure, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Oracle Net, Data Pump, Oracle Database Auditing, Container Databases, and Oracle Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System (ACFS)
  • Strong backup and recovery experience using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) with Veritas Netbackup
  • Strong performance tuning experience for both transactional and analytical workloads
  • Strong troubleshooting experience utilizing database and operating system capabilities
  • Strong shell scripting experience in PL/SQL
  • Strong bash shell scripting experience in Oracle Enterprise Linux
  • Strong system administration experience
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Participates in a 24x7 on-call support rotation
Desired Skills:
  • Databases: Oracle 19c or higher, MySQL 8 or higher, PostgreSQL 13.7 or higher
  • Oracle BI (OBIEE) 12
  • Experience with any of the following is beneficial
    • Oracle Application Express
    • Apache Tomcat
  • Shell scripting experience in MySQL, and PL/pgSQL
  • Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Security Requirements Guides (SRG)
