The Orthopedic Specialist is responsible for the delivery of skilled care before, during and after the surgical procedure, under the direction and supervision of a surgeon. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of the patient, equipment and work area using approved standards of surgical aseptic technique. This position also functions as the Orthopedic Practice Admistrator and schedules all operative procedures, communicates with patient and fits DME equipment with vendors. This position follows up on all patient inquiries, ensures equipment is present and appropriate in the inpatient, outpatient and surgical settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Pennsylvania LPN license or Surgical Technologist certification required
  • Understanding of payor quality guidelines, MIPS initiatives and pay for performance programs preferred
  • At least 2 years experience in a physician practice setting required
  • Healthcare provider CPR required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required
  • Knowledge in regulatory requirements of third party payors such as medicare, medicaid and blue shield preferred
