Summary of Painter Position

The painter will prepare Pella Window and Door products for finishing with either a stain or paint. This includes the disassembly of products, preparation of surfaces, masking, staining or painting, proper reassembly and repackaging. A keen awareness to detail is required. Our customers expect and pay for a great finish. Our business thrives on the ability to match existing finishes and to provide quality at a fair cost in order to create value. Painter Responsibilities
  • Unpack the product using a process that allows you to reuse the original packaging material.
  • The labeling must maintain its integrity so the bar code can be used to verify the products movement within the warehouse and be intact so the customer can use the room location at the project to install it in the correct room.
  • Disassemble window and door products without damage.
  • Follow a specific process to keep the fasteners and other parts organized so they can be matched up with the product when reassembly is required.
  • Stain windows/doors to match expected color the customer has approved.
  • Spray sealer/primer and lacquer/paint in Garmat spray booth.
  • The position also requires sanding, cleaning, and masking products with a high level of detail.
  • Reassemble and package the products that have been finished with great care and professionalism, so the operation meets the customer's expectation.
  • Stage completed material so it will not be damaged and is in the location matching the warehouse software.
  • Drives safety in the environment, through the implementation of safe processes and develops a safety conscious work team.
  • Comply with the established Safety Policies and guidelines.
  • Complete any other departmental responsibilities assigned your supervisor and team lead including cleaning and stocking materials.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED
Painter Qualifications
  • Adaptable to changing processes and priorities
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Routine heavy lifting up to 50 pounds using safe lifting techniques
  • Ability to stand for majority of shift
  • Ability to use cordless drill, masking tape tool and hand sanding pads required.
  • Knowledge of general construction applications (window and door applications preferred)
