Are You Ready?

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is searching for a board-eligible or board-certified physician in psychiatry to work part-time or full-time on site at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF). The selected psychiatrist will treat a caseload of male patients alongside a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner as part of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment team. The selected psychiatrist will have clinical support from a central advanced practice provider leadership team, to include a state psychiatry director and assistant state psychiatry director. Schedule:

• Weekdays; no nights

• No holidays

What You'll Do:

• Working collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system

• Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports

• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing

• Managing medication

• Making referrals for specialized care or treatment

• Performing duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards

• Participating in continuous quality improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews

• Providing or sharing responsibilities of institutional 24-hour on-call as needed (provision of on-call services are included as part of the normal job duties and do not garner extra compensation)

• Engaging in collaborative agreements, as needed

Qualifications
Certificate to practice medicine in state of Ohio as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code.
