Postdoctoral Fellow - Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation
Monrovia, California
Employer: City of Hope
Industry: Research
Salary: Competitive
Job type: Full-Time
Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.
The laboratories of Dr. Le Xuan Truong Nguyen in the Department of Hematological Malignancies and Translational Sciences are looking for highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellow. You will join a well-established group focused on conducting and completing projects leading to publications in high-impact journals. Our work is primarily focused on drug development and discovery of basic mechanisms and novel therapeutic targets of leukemogenesis, and genetic and epigenetic prognostic biomarkers in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We conduct research in discovering potential therapeutic candidates to target mitochondria vulnerability, including a nucleoside analog, small GTPase inhibitor, natural plant extract, monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, and CAR-T and CAR-NK.
As a successful candidate, you will:
• Lead projects by designing and performing experimental procedures
• Manage data, analyze, and report findings
• Write scientific papers and grants
• Work with PI and other team members to perform experiments in vitro and in vivo
• Utilize the following in vitro skills (not limited to but including):
o Aseptic techniques, cell culture, western blot, RNA/DNA extraction, protein extraction, RT-qPCR, seahorse, northern blot, bacterial transformation, cloning, lentivirus production, etc.
• Utilize the following in vivo skills (not limited to but including):
o Basic routes of administration (oral gavage, intraperitoneal, retro-orbital, subcutaneous, intra-venous injections), blood collection, organ harvesting (spleen, bone marrow, liver, etc.)
Your qualifications should include:
• PhD or M.D.
• Preferred experience with molecular signaling, cancer biology, leukemia, and extensive murine work
• Experience with immunology, including antibody production, bispecific antibody development, and CAR-T and CAR-NK technologies, is highly desirable.
