The Accelerator Lab at the Center for Stem Cells and Organoid Medicine (CuSTOM) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate with a focus on immunocompetent Organoid models.

Established in 2019, CuSTOM Accelerator is a state-of-the-art laboratory focused on addressing major challenges posed to bench-to-bedside translation of stem cell research. At CuSTOM Accelerator, we work at the intersection of academia and industry to develop organoid-based platforms that provide an unprecedented opportunity to bridge preclinical and clinical trials, revolutionizing personalized medicine and improving patient care.

Your tasks:

• Establishing and applying organoid based HTS/HSC platform

• Isolation, culture, and characterization of immune cell

• Planning, conducting, and analyzing assays using organoid model

• Evaluation of immune phenotypes in the platform

• Presentation and publication of research result

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• PhD

• 3 - 5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

Preferred:

• Completed PhD in natural sciences or engineering

• Previous postdoctoral experience in academic or industry research is an advantage

• Comprehensive practical experience in (primary, stem cell) cell culture, organoids, or organs-on-chips, and microscopy

• In-depth knowledge with a focus on immunoengineering

• Experience with stem cells and organoids is desirable

• Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research activities (life science and engineering)

• Excellent communication skills as well as a structured, independent way of working

Unique Skills:

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, supervisory ability, and an innovative approach to experimental design. Computer literate and working knowledge of software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, and database). Analytical ability sufficient to compare data; mathematical ability sufficient to perform algebraic calculations and statistical analysis. Ability to synthesize information and to create and deal with new situations by applying past experiences. Expressed willingness to teach others and share results. Capable of meeting time demands necessary to execute experiments.
