SUMMARY: The Press Brake Operator is responsible for the set-up, adjustment, and operation of our press brake equipment to fabricate various prototype and production jobs. This individual will need to inspect parts and configure the bend allowances to ensure quality.

REPORTS TO: Press Brake Supervisor

WORK AUTHORIZATION: US Person

LOCATION: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Set up, adjust, and operate the press machine.
  • Proficient operation of the machine while maintaining production requirements and quality.
  • Observe machine operation to verify the accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance punching and adjust machine controls as required.
  • Verify dimensions of the finished part using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, CMMS, and Virtek laser inspection.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience working with industrial machines.
  • 2+ years of Amada-type or similar press brake experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to use handheld measurement instruments.
