The CloudTune Capacity Management and Planning (CaMP) team is responsible for planning, procuring and managing cloud compute resources used by Amazon's WW Stores, Digital and Other businesses (Alexa, Advertising, Digital Video, Retail Website Marketplaces and more). We are a fun-loving, high performing and diverse team that owns programs which ensure successful scaling and descaling for world wide peak events including Prime Day, Q4 holidays, and Prime Video original launches.

Our organization, CloudTune, in partnership with Region Flexibility, is driving an SDO-wide program to diversify our use of AWS regions beyond DUB, IAD, and PDX regions. The objective of the Diversify AWS Region Usage (DARU) program is to mitigate the risk of capacity concentration by encouraging teams to design workloads that are region-flexible, utilize AWS automation such as Flexible Fleets to access multiple capacity pools, and optimize workload placement so SDO efficiently utilizes AWS. This is a strategic, highly visible, multi-year program which spans all Amazon business.

We are looking for a passionate, deeply technical, and results-oriented Principal Technical Program Manager to join our team and support the Diversify AWS Region Usage (DARU) program by partnering closely with Region Flexibility and SDO Businesses .

You will be responsible for long term capacity assurance and own driving supply and supportability with AWS. You will work to enable Amazon businesses to leverage new AWS regions and improve the efficiency and scale of our business. You will have a proven track record of planning and delivering complex programs with multi-year roadmap, using Agile and incremental delivery methods. You will have experience influencing architectural change across thousands of teams and you can succinctly communicate with engineers to senior VPs.

* You will be responsible for the strategic roadmap and tactical milestones of the Program.

* You will own the Monthly Program Reviews and leadership updates for the Program , you will be required to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences including Directors and VPs across SDO businesses

* You will be responsible to drive decisions in an ambiguous environment by proactively identifying risks and bringing them to the attention of stakeholders with mitigation plans before they become roadblocks.

* You will be responsible for diving deep into data and metrics, understanding them well to drive and influence decisions and stay connected to the details

* You will need a strong bias for action and be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously

* Your ability to understand the big picture and plan ahead for dependencies and roadblocks is crucial.

* Throughout, you will internalize Amazon's Leadership Principles, and live those into everyday practices to guide your programs to success.

* Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

* Strong communication, data analysis and execution skills, ability to use data driven analysis and high judgement to make decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in hands-on work managing complex technology projects

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- * Experience owning and leading program reviews with audience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

- * Experience in architectural design or system design independent of an architect

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
