The role of Procurement Manager will lead a team of tactical buyers that implement our procurement strategies for the Tektronix component solutions organization (CSO). This people leader will work together with engineering, manufacturing, quality, planning, sales, program management and suppliers to identify and drive total cost savings, innovation, timely delivery, and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team consisting of Procurement professionals that collaborate closely with Component Engineering, Commodity Managers, Planning and Logistics as well as the whole of Tek CSO as their customer.
  • Lead the team on processes that enable security of supply and collaborates on supplier quality while achieving cost savings, mitigates risk and supports the growth objectives of CSO.
  • Develops and manages processes that allow for efficiency and accuracy improvement associated with RFQ, selection, qualification and ongoing performance management of suppliers that support CSO including:
    • contracts,
    • contribute to the development/IP agreements
    • supplier relationship management..
  • Lead and develop buyers through performance management on an annual basis, growth in role, create an inclusive and equitable environment.
  • Drive continuous improvements and knowledge in teams use of Oracle Cloud Fusion Govt. through patch implementation and ongoing development in the use of the MRP tool.
  • Manage the supply base to achieve operational and procurement metrics such as: savings (PPV, VAVE), delivery (OTD & Past due), quality (PPM), lead-time and payment terms.
  • Facilitate early engagement and collaboration with CSO engineering to understand technical needs, contribute to supplier roadmap creation, on-board new business awards and enable alignment of requirements with supplier capabilities.
  • Able to use lean tools to drive business results with a continuous improvement mentality and take on projects as needed
  • Able to handle and report performance associated with customer flow-down requirements with specific focus on US Govt/DOD Subcontracting Plans


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • B.A/B.S. Degree or equivalent experience in materials, supply chain & logistics, or engineering (MBA is preferred)
  • 5+ years of tactical or strategic procurement experience within a manufacturing environment and selected materials functions including one or more of the following functions; production planning and scheduling, materials movement, inventory, and logistics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Experience with ERP system (Oracle preferred)
  • Knowledgeable in LEAN tools and techniques including FBS, Kanban, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvements and Value Engineering initiatives
  • Background in electronic components, assemblies, PCBA, & Cables and/or microelectronics commodity management is a plus!
