Ohly has a great opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our team in Boyceville, Wisconsin. The Project Engineer coordinates and manages capital projects, monitors process operations/controls, and assists with technical issues for the Boyceville facility to support production, maintenance, process improvements, and new process development. We are a small team, so interaction with leaders and colleagues across the organization are plentiful.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define, manage, and implement day to day capital projects as required by management team decisions
  • Quality and Safety are paramount to all we do. Engineering experience in food processing, ingredients, pharmaceuticals, medical device, or chemicals translate well to our manufacturing setting
  • We also have projects in facilities, civil, and utility engineering, so any experience in these areas is a plus
  • Communication is key - this role will provide downtime requirements and daily formal communication to our Production Manager for scheduling and ensure all departments are generally aware of project work which may be occurring in their areas
  • Coordinate vendors/contractors, equipment installations, construction, commissioning, and qualification as necessary to ensure minimal disruption to production
  • Complete capital projects and repairs on time, on budget, and with zero accidents
  • Monitor and provide technical inputs to the extraction, processing, and drying operations and support our production, maintenance, R&D, and quality control departments
  • Responsible for ensuring employees comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and the Food Safety Plan as well as report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Participate in the Ohly Americas safety program including but not limited to attending weekly, monthly, and annual safety training

Essential Skills & Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, bioprocessing/bioproducts, food engineering, or related area
  • 3+ years of industrial engineering experience with project related background
  • Ability to create projects to support improvements in plant operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive oral and written skills
  • Understanding of GMP's, engineering in food production environments, and 3A standards
  • Familiarity with process controls
