Department Description The College of Letters and Science (L&S) is the largest and most comprehensive academic unit on the Davis campus as measured by numbers of faculty, students, and breadth and number of academic programs. The college has more than 900 faculty spanning the arts, humanities, cultural studies, social sciences, mathematical and physical sciences. The College accounts for over 14,000 undergraduate students, more than 4,000 degrees awarded each year, approximately 750,000 student credit hours annually, and 54 major degree programs. The College has 1,500 students pursuing graduate degrees.
