General Description: Provide oversight for a team of Financial Analysts. Work with the National Accounting Center and Corporate Finance to ensure financials of assigned region are completed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for management and development of Financial Analyst team. Includes training, coaching, and performance management.

• Ensure analysts are within designated timelines for all system tasks and deliverables related to month-end close deadlines and accurate forecasts. Includes journal entries.

• Lead financial analysts to prepare reports utilizing necessary tools. Ensure financial statements accurately reflect the region's financial results.

• Act in liaison capacity with Corporate Accounting team and Corporate Finance personnel. Ensure region is in compliance with corporate requirements.

• Monitor and ensure Regional FP&A team follow applicable updates/trends for forecast iterations. Evaluate reasonableness for trend busters or propose trend busters as appropriate.

• Ensure Analysts update all reports throughout close cycle and distribute to regional leadership. Includes monthly reporting package and ad hoc reporting.

• Identify issues indicative of a troubling trend or financial issue and escalate to Regional CFO.

• Participate in all calls related to Balance Sheet pre-close and close. Includes DB Lag, Allowance, and Bad debt calls.

• Ensure inter-company and intra-region transfers are reconciled and balanced.

• Ensure supplemental and contingent Income Schedules are properly stated/updated.

• Review all schedules to ensure financial statements are accurate and comply with corporate guidelines. Includes compensation costs, regional allocations of costs, bonuses, taxes, and benefits.

• Ensure budget carriers and ancillary desk carriers are updated and reflect collectible earnings.

• Hold region in line with USI standard compensation model for producers, leaders, and staff.

• Ensure all significant accruals related to contingencies, buydowns, and retentions are updated for changes in the underlying business and reflect amounts that USI would be expected to pay for such liability at that point in time.

• Ensure financial statements reflect corporate guidelines related to significant accounting pronouncements. Includes Goodwill valuation estimates, ASC 605 & 606, Occupancy related charges with schedules up to date for GAAP Abandonment, rent relief, and/or sublease income.

• Provide budget oversight. Includes participation in corporate and regional calls.

• Monitor acquisition and post-acquisition tasks. Includes:

• Track acquisition line information in the NCF rollforward. Escalate any unusual information to the RCFO and/or Corporate.

• Follow USI protocol for below the line tracking on out of metric items for personnel, occupancy, service, or selling expenses.

• Work collaboratively with RCFO and all corporate personnel to meet key deadlines. Includes net working capital calculations and guidelines, rosters, assignments of job titles/vendor/accounts payable, or occupancy related functions.

• Work with Project Management and Corporate Accounting for line of business trend or attrition information, expiration rights support, valuation, or goodwill related calculations,

• Work with other USI entities as needed for fair/accurate allocations.

• Producer books of business - reflect Day 1 client lists. Ensure any producer retention calculations exclude post-acquisition transfers and include those clients who were in the producer book of business on Day 1.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 10 years + experience in accounting and finance in the insurance brokerage industry.

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or statistics. Advanced degree or CPA a plus.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables.

• SAP experience preferred. Comfortable with various add-on tools, such as BPC and company proprietary systems.

• Ability to manage others effectively.

• Demonstrates a can-do attitude and problem-solving ability.

• Strong modeling and data manipulation capabilities.

• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal direction.

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work with all levels of staff and management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
